BTEC National Diploma Art & Design (level 3)

Most of UK Universities accept BTEC qualifications for progression onto the second or final year of their degree programmes, such as BA(HONS).

BTEC qualifications have been mapped to equivalent qualifications from Europe, USA, Canada and Australia, by independent organisation UK NARIC. This provide the approved centres with official equivalencies of BTEC HN qualifications, to many of the world’s top education systems, giving them proven credibility, and enabling progression to university and employment within these markets.

Level 3 BTEC (National Diploma) Art & Design

Course structure

> The programme is divided into two (2) semesters and is completed in one year on a full time basis.
> 480 Guided-learning hours and workshops, divided in 12 compulsory units.

  3. Ideas and Concepts in Art and Design

  5. Contextual Influences in Art and Design
  6. Computers in Art and Design

  8. Digital Image Capture and Editing
  9. Mixed Media Image Making
  10. Typographic and Layout Design
  11. Words and Images in Graphic Design
  12. Drawing from Observation
+ French as a native / foreign language # Guided and interactive learnng hours.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for a BTEC Level 3 ND must satisfy one of the following requirements:

  • 17 years and over with a french baccalaureate level, or its international equivalent
  • BTEC Level 2 Art & Design
  • A portfolio of relevant work.

Persons who are interested in this programme but are not currently employed in the field of graphic design may be required to attend an entry interview. This interview will assess the applicant’s eligibility for entry into the programme.

Schedule for applications

Prospective students can submit their application form any time of the year, for an entry in september, to start the BTEC Art & Design (ND) course.

Level 5 BTEC (Higher National Diploma) Art & Design

HNDs ART & DESIGN (Graphic design, 3D Design & Interactive Media) develop your knowledge and practical skills for a career in the creative industries.

Course structure

The programme is divided into four (4) semesters and can be completed in two years on a full time basis : 980 Guided-learning hours and workshops, divided in 16 compulsory units.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for a BTEC HND must satisfy one of the following requirements:

  • 17 years and over with a french baccalaureate level, or its european equivalent
  • 18 years and over with 2 A’ Levels or equivalent
  • BTEC National or Extended Diploma
  • BTEC Level 3 National Certificate
  • A portfolio of relevant work.

Persons who are interested in this programme but are not currently employed in the field of graphic design may be required to attend an entry interview. This interview will assess the applicant’s eligibility for entry into the programme.
